About MGC

Mike has worked in senior logistics management throughout his career at global NMC’s including GPT and Leyland Trucks.  He started MGC Import Export Consultants back in 1992 to offer a unique, tailored logistics service to SME’s and has built it into a thriving business.  A true Irish man at heart, he supports his national teams at every opportunity.

Terry has over 16 years’ experience within the shipping industry. After working for an international supplier of medical equipment, Terry now works as our Logistics & Operations Manager at MGC over 10 years.  Outside of work, Terry is a fan of football and supports his local team PNE. He enjoys socialising with friends and family, walking with his three dogs and playing the bass guitar.

Sarah has over 20 years experience with the freight forwarding/shipping industry.  She has worked for a well-known freight forwarder in London and has worked in manufacturing companies in both the oil/gas industries dealing with imports and exports.  Sarah is a lover of the great outdoors and enjoys hiking, canoeing and other water activities as well as going to the gym, travelling (having lived in both Austria & Russia) and spending time with the family.

Alison has worked in Marketing since leaving University.  After experiences in the retail industry at Shop Direct and E.H. Booths, she moved into the freight forwarding industry at MGC.  She has worked in several areas of the business including operations, finance and marketing.  She lived in Washing DC with her family but returned back to the UK, during the Covid epidemic in 2020.  She enjoys travelling with her family and looking after her rescue dog Rocky.

Hazel Wood is an experienced finance professional at MGC Import Export Consultants, where she has built a strong reputation for her attention to detail, analytical mindset, and commitment to supporting efficient business operations. With a solid background in financial processes and a passion for helping organisations run smoothly, Hazel plays a key role in ensuring accuracy and reliability across the company’s financial activities.  Outside of her professional life, Hazel enjoys walking and exploring the outdoors, socialising with friends, and spending quality time with her children.

Chris has been involved with the freight and logistics industry for over 30 years covering most areas of international trade, consultancy and freight forwarding.  As imports and then logistics manager for a well-known London based department store as well as other roles in various parts of the country developing systems solutions for HMRC tax mitigation regimes as well as shipping manager in an international textile trading house; Chris has dealt with complex operational issues and trade related problems.  Chris enjoys listening to and mixing records. He enjoys socialising with friends or family. An avid sports fan and watcher of football, Chris is developing his knowledge of T’ai Chi.

Dave spent 20 years with HM Customs and Excise/HMRC in a variety of roles, involving International Trade, with the final 7 years as an International Trade Assurance Officer, conducting audits of importers across the North-West, dealing with a wide range of businesses in the SME sector.  Dave has worked in the freight forwarding sector, learning all aspects of the, leading to Customs Manager roles for several freight forwarding businesses dealing with the day to day challenges faced within the industry, especially the complex period post Brexit and CDS implementation.  Dave enjoys live music events, spending time with family and friends, cycling and is a Man. City season ticket holder (from the days they were not very good at all).

Jeff is an accomplished and professional individual with a strong background in Quality Management and Change Management. Proven ability to operate in a competitive and stressful environment, thriving on achieving results and attaining performance targets.  His focuses include Business and Management consulting, mergers and acquisition BMS realignment and wide reaching range of training.
